These masters were independent, not students of a single dojo. Toki never trained in Nanto; his Hokuto Ujoken is a derivative of Hokuto Shinken, created by Toki himself, with no relation to Nanto Seiken. Jagi, a failed Hokuto Shinken student, adopted a sawed-off shotgun and some Nanto techniques but was never a Nanto disciple or member of the Seven Stars of South.
